Brief
What started as a simple hobby caring for and collecting plants, became Ben's first entrepreneurial business. Urblea is an online plant boutique selling young houseplants and cuttings. Ben wanted Urblea to be a brand that aims to promote the benefits of caring for houseplants and the rewarding feeling of growing a young plant into its mature form. My goal was to create and define the brand identity of Urblea, along with its packaging and print materials.
Inspiration
Urblea is a brand valuing trust, thoughtfulness, and enthusiasm. Ben wanted his brand to reflect his love for houseplants and the care placed into each order. Not only is Urblea a place to purchase plants, but a haven to educate oneself about the plants they buy.
Concept
From Urblea's core values, I wanted to create an identity where anyone looking to get into plants will feel welcomed and come out confident. Ben wanted his brand to be a place you can rely on for quality service, well-looked after plants, and a resource for all plant-related needs. I want the brand to excite and delight every customer from the entry points of the website to the final destination of receiving their plants.

Logo Concept
The naming of Urblea came from the combination of two words: urban and leaves. The logo combined the two symbols with feelings of growth, friendliness, and energy. The final logo represents the brand's mission of the rewarding experience of growing a young plant and plants in general.
Visual Language
Packaging & Print Materials
Packaging that brings joy and excitement one would feel when receiving a new houseplant. Through a muted complementary color, the playful copy on the packaging stands out and demands attention. Since Urblea positions itself to sell only young plants, each box has a fun and playful message aligning with the joy of being a new plant parent.
Urblea Collectable Cards
With each order, Urblea places little collectible cards for each of the plants ordered to help the new plant owner start strong.
Social Media Presence
Following the Urblea brand, the website is concise with ease of use in mind. The site incorporates concepts of tranquility, friendliness, and minimalism. The Urblea site aims to be the one-stop shop for houseplants, plant knowledge, and accessories.
