Brief
In this student project, the Aquarium of the Pacific was in need of a consumer advertising campaign, comprising a set of billboards for the upcoming summer. Aquarium of the Pacific wanted to capture the interest of kids and families in the Greater Los Angeles area.
Inspiration
Aquarium of the Pacific has always made it their goal to create a sense of wonder and respect for the Pacific Ocean and its marine life. I knew I wanted to make a captivating billboard campaign that instills excitement and curiosity in kids. I drew a lot of inspiration from wildlife shows being informative and action-oriented capturing the attention of its viewers. My goal was to translate cinematography into the 2D space of a billboard.
Concept
With the large scale of billboards, creating a dynamic scene to showcase one of the aquarium's inhabitants was key. I decided to design billboards where the sea creature dominates the space it lives in. Along with this, fun and educational fact are added to explain the creature's action.
